Giving the Gift of Catholic Education
A primary goal of Catholic schools has long been to remain affordable for all who wish to attend. Throughout the years, this has been made possible by generous gifts from donors. One rewarding opportunity for donors to help provide a Catholic education to students who would otherwise be unable to afford the cost of tuition is through the Xavier Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund. Building the Endowed Scholarship Fund is critical to keeping a Xavier education affordable for all members of our supporting parishes. Click here to learn more about the Endowed Scholarship Fund. For more information about the Scholarship Fund or to create a named Endowed Scholarship contact Jody Ruff, Xavier Foundation Executive Director at 319-378-4571 or jruff@xavierfoundation.org.
On February 5, 2010 Xavier High School Principal Tom Keating appeared as a Guest Columnist in the Cedar Rapids Gazette. In his column, Principal Keating states, "By nurturing spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social growth in each student, we strive to guide students to become the kind of young men and women who will make our community and our world a better place. In remaining true to the four pillars of Catholic education — faith, knowledge, discipline and morals — Xavier prepares young people for the challenges life holds for them." This February, Xavier Foundation volunteers will visit with more than 300 area businesses. Business owners have generously supported Xavier High School over the years knowing it is an important asset to our community. In return, Xavier returns an estimated $10 million to the community and saves taxpayers nearly $3 million each year by educating more than 780 students who would otherwise be in the public school system.
