The 2007 Alumni Hall of Fame inductees include (from left to right): Dacey Waldron, LaSalle, 1992; Harriet Kalinsky, Faculty; Brad Stovie, Regis 1984; Betty and Arnie Kluber, Supporters; Kyle Menke, Regis 1990; Kaye Drahozal for Chris Drahozal, Regis 1979; and Casey O'Donnell, LaSalle 1997.
Christopher Drahozal is a 1979 graduate of Regis High School. He graduated with a BA degree summa cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 1983. In 1986 Chris graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law with highest honors. Chris and his wife, Kaye, are the parents of Stephanie, Matthew, and Julia. Chris has been a Professor of Law at the University of Kansas School of Law since 1994. His prior employment included: private practice in Washington DC; Law Clerk for Justice Byron R White, United States Supreme Court; and Law Clerk for George H Aldrich, Iran-United States Claims Tribunal, The Hague, and The Netherlands. Chris has published eight books and more than forty articles on legal topics, and has made numerous presentations throughout the US and other countries. He is the recipient of the 2004 Immel Award for Teaching Excellence at KU Law School.
Harriet Kalinsky was an English teacher and department head at Regis High School fro 1978 to 1999 and at Xavier High School from 1999 to 2006. She earned a BA degree from the University of Northern Iowa and an MA degree from Marycrest University. Mrs. Kalinsky was named Governor's Scholar Recognition Program Favorite Teacher three times and The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation for Educational Excellence Special Teacher Award five times. She has also been the recipient of the Outstanding Education Award - Cedar Rapids West Rotary, St. Francis Xavier Award, Presidential Scholars Program Certificate of Excellence and Xavier Parents for Excellence "Xcellence in Teaching Award."
Arnest and Betty Kluber are long time LaSalle and Xavier High School supporters. They have been married 56 years and are the parents of five children and grandparents of 14. All five of their children are graduates of LaSalle High School. Mr. & Mrs. Kluber were members of the LaSalle Athletic Booster Club and the LaSalle Music Booster Club. They chaperoned numerous trips and dances, and often hosted LaSalle faculty and staff parties and dinners. Mr. & Mrs. Kluber attended plays, musical performances, and sporting events at LaSalle, and continue to do the same at Xavier. Seven of their grandchildren have attended Xavier High School
Kyle Menke is a 1990 graduate of Regis High School. He attended Iowa State University, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. Kyle was named valedictorian of his Graphic Design class in 1994 and received the Iowa Film Award for "Best Animated Short" by a student in 1993. Kyle and his wife, Erica, are the parents of four children, Olivia, Grant, Carl, and Veronica. Kyle is a storyboard artist for animation and has worked in the animation industry for 11 years. He currently is employed by Disney TV Animation. Kyle received an Emmy in 2001 from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for "Outstanding Achievement in Animation" for his storyboarding work on "Invader Zim." He was nominated for an Annie Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Storyboarding" for his work on "Spiderman: The Animated Series" in 2003.
Casey O'Donnell graduated from LaSalle High School in 1997. A four-sport letterman at LaSalle, Casey was named 1997 Gazette Male Athlete of the Year and 1997 LaSalle Male Athlete of the Year. His football honors include All-Academic All-District, First Team All-State, First Team All-District, First Team All-Metro, and District Offensive MVP. Casey broke four individual school records his senior year: Most passing yards in completion percentage in one season and most passes thrown in one game. In basketball he was named All-Academic All-Conference, First Team All-District, First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Metro, and MVP All-Conference. Casey's baseball honors include All-Academic All-District, Second Team All-State, First Team All-District, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-Metro. He played basketball at St. Ambrose University, Davenport where he earned a BA degree in Finance in 2001. He is currently employed as a Senior Financial Analyst for Cingular Wireless, Atlanta, GA.
Brad Stovie is a 1984 graduate of Regis High School. At Regis, Brad was on the football, basketball, baseball, and golf teams. He was a member of the State Basketball Championship teams in 1983 and 1984, and he received All-Metro and Honorable Mention All-State in football. Brad graduated from Loras College in 1988 with a BS degree in Biology and from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1992. He is currently the owner of The Dental Center in Cedar Rapids. Brad and his wife Becky have four children: Cal, Camden, Maddix, and Braden.
Dacey Waldron graduated from LaSalle High School in 1992 as class valedictorian. She was the first LaSalle girls basketball player to score 1,000 points, and was named Honorable Mention All-State. Dacey earned a BA degree in Anthropology from Grinnell College in 1996 and an MA degree in Health Promotion from the University of Iowa in 1998. Her basketball honors while attending Grinnell include Female Freshman Athlete of the Year, three-time All-Conference, Midwest Conference Scoring Leader, 4th All-Time Leading Scorer at Grinnell, and Outstanding Two-Sport Female Athlete at Grinnell. Dacey currently is a Health/Fitness Specialist at Mercy Fitness Center and Mercy Acceleration.
